Sex Worker's Opera is an award-winning repeat sell out show created and performed by Sex Workers and friends. Breaking through stigma and stereotypes using music, theatre, dance and multimedia, it offers an unflinchingly honest, upliftingly human portrayal of Sex Workers’ experiences locally and around the world. We are now taking the show on tour from November to December 2017.

The project was created from over 60 stories sent in by Sex Workers from 17 countries. The experiences of escorts, strippers, webcam models, porn actors, street-based workers and others informed the devising process to make the project as representative as possible.

As seen on ITV’s This Morning, London Live, and as heard on BBC World Service and Resonance FM, the project makes the controversial topic accessible and relatable to everyday audiences, with a library of positive press building.

The show was developed with support from The Royal Opera House and has previously been performed at the Arcola Theatre and The Pleasance, London. The most recent run at The Pleasance in May 2016 received 12 standing ovations over two weeks, filled 80% of seats in the 180 capacity main house and was showered with glowing reviews across mainstream press, independent blogs and social media alike.

An excerpt from the show was recently performed in Dublin, Ireland for the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers and the full opera will be performed in a short run in Amsterdam, Netherlands in July 2018.

The show is taking bookings for full or split weeks across November and December 2017.
